Dr. Otto Laske's Keynote Address to the International Coaching Community Congress, Lisbon, Portugal, October 2009. The keynote introduces behavioral coaches to developmental theory and thinking. The 2-hr keynote comprises exercises for the audience and puts the emphasis on the cognitive development of coaches and clients.

This presentation focuses on the match of Size of Role and Size of Person in the sense of Elliott Jaques. It introduces CDF, especially dialectical thinking, as the crucial criterion of effective decision making and strategy execution, distinguishing 3 main phases of cognitive development measurable in terms of dialectical thought forms.

Otto Laske, IDM Meeting of Minds, Brussels, October 2009. This paper introduces crucial notions defining dialectical thinking generally and in business. The paper stresses in conclusion that business schools and leadership development programs are in no way prepared for the challenges of the constantly changing and complex world that is in focus in dialectical thinking. (For one thing, dialectical thinking is not taught outside of IDM.)
