IDM Interviewing and Scoring Supervision
The two main skill areas in IDM’s Assessment Certification and Professional Practice programs are interviewing and evaluating a client’s socio-emotional and cognitive level of development (“scoring”). These skills are indispensable for graduating from Program One, and invaluable for strengthening one’s own social deliberative skills in professional practice.
Students in the early phases of Program One have the opportunity of strengthening their developmental listening and analysis skills by working with those who have graduated from Program II after writing four case studies. Practice in interviewing is foundational in gathering adequate assessment data (Certification Program) and equally in learning to listen to clients structurally.
Students are invited to contact supervisors directly once they have been named in Program One classes. Payment for supervision happens via an IDM account, as shown below from which payment to supervisors is made.
Logistically, supervision is provided in chunks of 4 1-hr sessions over a defined period such as a month. The minimal number of participants in a supervision group is 4. Supervision groups meet based on an agreed-upon time table over the designated period after having registered for a specific period with a particular supervisor. The price of supervision is presently $200 per supervisee ($50/hr of supervision).
