Increasing the collaborative intelligence of teams by using deep dialogue practices

Team collaboration has become a pivot of organizational success. If people had an intuitive awareness of the structure of their thinking, team work would be a lot more effective since a greater mutual understanding and decision making would prevail. Such an awareness being absent, what meta-cognitive strategies can we use to heighten such an awareness? Living Through Four Eras of Cognitive Development (2012)

I came upon an earlier piece of writing of mine entitled as above and thought it might be worth pointing to. It was published in Integral Leadership Review, and is found at Here I only republish the article's abstract. My interest in this article of 8 years ago was renewed by reading Iain McGilchrist's "The Master and his Emissary" (2010), in which the author makes it clear that, and why, we are endangering our own survival by culturally privileging the left hemisphere in which logic and language are located. The author debunks the simplistic notion of 'left' and 'right' hemisphere, showing how highly intertwined they are despite their conjuring up for us entirely different world views. He urges a cultural shift away from the culturally enabled despotism of the left-hemisphere which, despite being only the 'emissary' of its right-hemisphere 'master', behaves as if it were the master itself, with existentially dangerous consequences for human life. Laske Social Science Archive, Section V: Writings (2015-2019) on DTF, the Dialectical Thought Form Framework

The Laske Social Science Archive gathers Otto Laske’s writings on organizations written between 1999 and 2019, many of which have retained their value vis a vis new fashions of management thinking. Its sections are numbered chronologically. The Archive makes available both texts and slides, the latter for pedagogical purposes. The articles gathered are bundled according to topic. Archive V gathers articles written  DTF-based dialectical thinking as the developmental peak of adult cognitive development, seen from the ontological perspective of Roy Bhaskar's work on 'Dialectic: The Pulse of Freedom' (1993). The emphasis in these writings falls on the intrinsic relatedness of 'dialectical' and 'dialogical' thinking and the hypothesis that speaking in real time makes ontological truth claims regarding how the real world works (rather than being a mere behavioral activity). Announcement of the ‘Otto Laske Archive of Social Science’, Parts 1 and 2

Over the next month, due to increasing demand, Otto Laske will make available a large number of his unpublished social-science papers on this site. The majority of papers is unpublished, but some important papers published more than 10 years ago will also be made available. Only very few papers are incomplete. The Archive is divided into two parts: Decade 1 (1999-2009) and Decade 2 (2010 to 2019) of IDM. Each part of the Archive will be in the form of a single blog and will comprise both papers and sets of slides, the latter used for teaching CDF in both English and German. The articles will be posted in chronological order and will be annotated to various degrees in order to make them accessible. Writings of the first decade of IDM begin with a critique of behavioral mindset generally, whether in management, coaching, or consulting. They extend the critical approach to organizations initiated by Chris Argyris and Elliott Jaques. These writings reconceptualize the tayloristic shibboleth of "Human Resources" on grounds of developmental thinking, a critique that finds its clearest expression in the forthcoming book by Jan De Visch and Otto Laske on collaborative intelligence (see ).
